The Pro Edition of Intel Core CPUs “delidded”, meaning that the Integrated Heatspreader (IHS) is removed from the die. Subsequently the factory-applied thermal paste will be replaced with Conductonaut liquid metal thermal paste from Thermal Grizzly. In addition, the Heatspreader has been polished smooth for an increased contact area with the cooler. After the IHS is nickel-plated, it will also be laser engraved.
